I bought many toys for my computers over the years and I don't include the computers (9) and laptops (3).

I made a list of my favorite ones.

1- ADVC 100 by Canopus
http://dv411.com/canopusadvc100.html#specs

I bought it to digitize my VHS movies to DVD.
The version I have was purchased on the Internet and it has a button to disable the Macrovison (crap used to prevent making copies). I even used to record movies or shows from Hulu by connecting my two computers and recording on the 2nd one.
That was a great device. I still have the original box and accessories.

2- Fusion HDTV 3 QAM gold from Dvico
http://www.dvico.com/products_mul_hd3.html

I used it to capture HD videos from cable over the air.
I had a great time with this toy!

3- ION Turntable
http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/ttusb

I bought it to digitize my vinyls via USB on my computer.
It comes with a free editing software to help remove scratches, pops, clicks and background noise.

4 - HD PVR by Hauppauge
http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

Even better than my ADVC 100! It can record HDTV straight to my computer and the quality is amazing! My favorite toy so far!

5 - WD Live TV Hub
http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=570

I can watch TV online, play games, watch my own videos, play my music, look at pictures, etc.

Here's my next gadget I want to buy!

Okay that's it! What's your favorite computer toy?

I just added two new toys to my collection!

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-GigaWorks-Multimedia-BasXPort-Technolgy/dp/B001S14DYO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top/188-7383788-9942643

http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI/ref=sr_1_1/176-9257023-4700757?ie=UTF8&qid=1375399083&sr=8-1&keywords=behringer+usb+dac

At first I wanted the M-Audio AV 40 Studiophile speakers but I read too many bad reviews about their reliability.
Then I wanted the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 but they also have reliability problems and they were discontinued pretty much everywhere I looked.

I'll use the Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface for now until I decide to get the expensive Dragonfly DAC.

Well the only new thing I have gotten technology wise is a 1 TB external hard drive and a new computer.

What brand? Is it a laptop or a desktop?
I used to like desktops only until I got my HD PVR, now I only want laptops.
I don't really use it as a laptop though because I have so many things connected to it. I use a 30 inches HDTV as a monitor connected through HDMI and all my USB ports (minus one reserved for external devices) are connected to something, making it impossible to use as a laptop.

My latest laptop is an Alienware M14XR2 with an Intel Core I5-3210M 2.50 GHz,
6 GB ram, 64 bits, Windows 7 pro.
It runs my HD videos smoothly and that's the reason why I wanted this particular model. I would have gotten a faster CPU but they only came with Windows 8 (crap). I also like the backlit keyboard because I can type in the dark.

PC specs.
TB HD.
8 GB RAM.
64 bits.
Dual run Fedora and Debian OS.
NVIDIA graphics accelerator.
Can't remember the processor. :X

I built my computer by myself. Altogether I think it was about $2k for the hardware, but I have a lot of unnecessary features. I saved a bundle by not using Windows and instead using Linux. It's air-cooled, got me a mech-backlighted Alienware keyboard and mouse, and, just for fun, I have it hooked up to my vinyl record payer and I have a cassette player built into one of the drives.

Hopefully this link works. If not then well...just delete the part of the URL that obviously causes the error.

My laptop also has a GEForce video card and an Audigy sound card.
I'm not on it right now so I don't know the exact name and number.
The sound card is not bad at all, I can't wait to get my new speakers and DAC.
Should be here any day now. If the sound is good enough without the DAC I'll use it on this older laptop (Toshiba Satellite).

I have no idea of specs and stuff. All I know is my computer is old 'Datel Systems' or someone made it but that's all.

If you're on Windows XP or 7 and have my computer or computer icon on the desktop, right click on it then go to properties, you'll find a brief description like this.
On my older laptop it says:

Windows Vista Home Premium
Toshiba Satellite A305
Intel core 2 Duo CPU T6400 2GHz,
3 GB ram
32 bits OS
